# Search fields

**Search fields** are attributes of products in your store or created by metafields. They define which fields your customers can search for when looking for products. Search field includes:

* **Default search fields**: Default search fields are the product attributes (Title, description, product type ...)
* **Search fields by metafield**: The search fields that are created from metafields.
* **Search fields by variant metafield**: The search fields are created from product variant metafields.
